What Add page numbers to PDF helps you do
Number a report or combined submission without changing its page dimensions. Set a starting number and text size, then check that the new number does not cover existing content.
How to use it
- Select a PDF and arrange its pages.
- Choose the starting number and text size in PDF points.
- Create the numbered PDF and check the bottom of each page.
Input and output example
INPUT
3-page PDF; starting number 5OUTPUT
Pages labeled 5, 6 and 7 at the bottom center
Supported formats and limits
- Unencrypted PDFs only. Up to 10 files, 25MB per file, 50MB total and 200 pages. Files are processed in your browser; damaged or unsupported PDFs are rejected.
- Page-copy operations may omit document-level bookmarks, attachments and interactive form behavior. Editing may invalidate digital signatures. Keep your original and check the downloaded PDF.
- Word/Excel conversion and searchable-PDF OCR are not included. For English image OCR, export a PDF page with PDF to JPG and PNG, then use Image to Text.
How the result is calculated
Numbers are drawn at y = 20pt, horizontally centered in the page’s unrotated coordinate space. Existing page rotation also rotates their visible position.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove existing page numbers?
No. New numbers are added on top of the current page. Check whether the source already contains numbering.
Can page numbers overlap the document?
Yes, especially on very small pages or pages with existing footer content. Choose a smaller text size and inspect the downloaded PDF.
