ABOUT THIS TOOL

What Image format converter helps you do

Change an image to the file format required by an application form, learning platform or website. This tool encodes a real JPG, PNG or WebP file rather than just changing the filename extension.

How to use it

  1. Choose one or more images, or drag them into the upload area.
  2. Select the output format. Converting to JPG flattens transparent areas onto white.
  3. Run the conversion, compare the previews and file sizes, then download individual images or a ZIP.

Input and output example

INPUT
Transparent 800 × 600 PNG; output format JPG
OUTPUT
800 × 600 JPG with a white background in previously transparent areas

Supported formats and limits

  • JPG, PNG and WebP. Up to 20 files per batch, 20MB per file and 80MB total. All file processing stays in your browser.
  • Each source and output image is limited to 24 megapixels and 12,000px on either side. The batch is limited to 80 megapixels. GIF, SVG and animated images are not supported.
  • Output does not retain EXIF, GPS, camera metadata or the original color profile. Canvas color conversion depends on your browser. Output files are limited to 100MB in total.

How the result is calculated

JPG and WebP quality is a browser encoder setting from 0.1 to 1. JPG uses lossy compression. The quality setting does not affect PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats preserve transparency?

PNG and WebP support an alpha channel. JPG does not, so this converter composites transparent pixels over white.

Will conversion always make the file smaller?

No. The result depends on the image content, format and quality. Compare the actual output size before replacing the original.
