What Print Size & DPI helps you do
Calculate how many pixels a printed length requires, or the print length of an image at a given DPI. This tool does not rewrite files or DPI metadata.
How to use it
- Choose the input unit and enter a length or pixel count.
- Enter the print resolution in DPI.
- Compare pixels, millimeters and inches.
Input and output example
INPUT
210 mm / 300 DPIOUTPUT
About 2,480 px / 8.267717 inches
Supported formats and limits
- Size and DPI must be positive. DPI must not exceed 100,000.
- The formula describes print density; it does not guarantee printer quality or add image detail.
How the result is calculated
1 inch = 25.4 mm. px = mm ÷ 25.4 × DPI; mm = px ÷ DPI × 25.4. Pixels round to the nearest integer and lengths use at most 6 decimal places.
Frequently asked questions
Does a higher DPI make an existing photo sharper?
Changing a number or metadata cannot create detail. Use an original image with enough pixels for the desired print size.
