- Paste a header-based CSV table or an array of objects.
- Review formula protection and convert the data.
Input and output example
INPUT
Name,Code Alex,0012OUTPUT
[
{"Name":"Alex","Code":"0012"}
]Supported formats and limits
- Maximum input: 1 MiB, 10,000 data rows and 200 columns. CSV uses commas.
- Empty or duplicate headers, mismatched column counts and nested object values are rejected.
- JSON null, missing values and empty strings all become empty CSV cells and cannot be distinguished on a round trip.
How the result is calculated
Papa Parse handles quoted commas, quotes and cell line breaks. CSV cells become strings, preserving leading zeros. CSV formula protection prefixes an apostrophe to values beginning with = + - @ and related control characters; this intentionally changes those values.
Frequently asked questions
Will 0012 become 12?
CSV to JSON keeps every cell as a string. When opening the result in a spreadsheet, choose text import settings to prevent the spreadsheet from reinterpreting it.
Why offer formula protection?
Spreadsheet programs may execute certain cells as formulas. Disable protection only if exact values are needed and you will import them safely as text.
