Supported formats and limits
- Simplification requires nonnegative safe integers; both values cannot be zero.
- For A:B = C:X, A cannot be zero.
How the result is calculated
Simplify by dividing both integers by their greatest common divisor. For a proportion, X = B × C ÷ A. Decimal results use at most 6 decimal places.
Frequently asked questions
Can I simplify a ratio containing decimals?
Simplification accepts integers. Multiply both values by the same power of ten first, or use the proportion mode for decimal values.
